Memory Activism

A workshop with anthropologist/ethnographer/filmmaker Ruth Behar

In this workshop we will reflect on different forms of memory activism, in ethnography and literature as well as public outreach through museums and other forms of public culture. I will share some thoughts about the meaning of memory activism in contemporary thinking and then open the floor to discussion with the audience.

Ruth Behar is Professor of Anthropology and Women’s Studies in the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
